More than in a house, one has the impression of lingering on the threshold of a mausoleum. Here it is time that confuses, seduces and feed our interest as we get to know the artefacts.
And it is precisely this strangeness in the compositions that plays such a decisive role as to force the flow. Neither forward nor backward, perhaps a suspended time.
In the background some images, details from a distant past. An altar, a seat, some vases and candles of a clear monastic vocation alternate with archetypal fragments of a classical-Roman architecture.
Any of the many homes of that festive Pompeii comes to mind and the memory recalls that night in ’79 in which everything was burned to become first a fossil and then a myth for eternity.

EMERGE Project Space is pleased to present Where Did You Sleep Last Night?, an exhibition by the designer duo COSEINCORSO.
COSEINCORSO is a multidisciplinary design studio founded by Marzia Cerio and Marwann Frikach in 2021, spcialized in design and curation. Some of the works on display are the result of their past research, while others were designed and produced for the occasion and are the result of a four-month residency spent in our places.
Più che in una casa, si ha tutta l’impressione di soffermarci sulla soglia di un mausoleo. Qui è il tempo a confondere, sedurre e alimentare il nostro interesse mentre ne conosciamo i manufatti.
Ed è proprio questa stranezza nelle composizioni a giocare un ruolo così decisivo da forzarne il flusso. Né avanti né indietro, forse un tempo sospeso.
Sullo sfondo, alcune immagini, dettagli di un passato lontano. Un altare, una seduta, alcuni vasi e candele di chiara vocazione monastica si alternano a frammenti archetipi di un’architettura classico-romana.
Torna alla mente una qualsiasi delle tante dimore di quella festosa Pompei e il ricordo rievoca quella notte del ’79 in cui tutto fu arso per diventare dapprima fossile e poi mito per l’eternità.

COSEINCORSO è uno studio di design multidisciplinare fondato da Marzia Cerio e Marwann Frikach nel 2021, specializzato in design e curatela. Alcune delle opere esposte sono frutto delle loro ricerche passate, altre invece sono state progettate e prodotte per l’occasione e sono il risultato di una residenza di quattro mesi trascorsi nella nostra sede.
